1 [Nishi's report 8 月 ] 2014/08/30 これは 私 の 最 初 のレポートです 日 本 時 間 15 日 早 朝 私 はたくさんの 素 晴 らしい 人 々に 囲 まれていました 本 当 に 感 謝 の 気 持 ちでいっぱいです そして 長 い 空 の 旅 も 終 わり 私 はホストファミリーの 家 に 着 いてすぐ 眠 りに 着 きました ホストファミリーは 皆 さん 親 切 で 私 の 片 言 過 ぎる 英 語 を 懸 命 に 理 解 してくれます とてもアクティビティな 家 族 で 私 を 毎 週 末 どこかへ 連 れて 行 ってくれるので もう 既 に たくさんの 経 験 をしました 学 校 での 生 活 は まだまだ 戸 惑 いばかりです 英 語 が 聞 き 取 れず 話 についていけず でも クラスメイトや 先 生 はとても 親 切 で 優 しく いつも 声 を 掛 けてくれます バレーボール 部 に 入 部 し チームメイトと 楽 しく 練 習 に 励 んでいます 今 では 友 達 もでき 勉 強 を 教 えてもらったりもしています もっと 会 話 ができるようになりたい という 思 いは 日 に 日 に 強 くなり いよいよ 留 学 生 活 が 始 まったという 感 じです 感 謝 の 気 持 ちを 忘 れず 頑 張 りたいです 西 琴 音 30/08/2014 This is my first report. Early morning of the 15 th in Japan time, I was surrounded with great people. I m full of feelings of appreciation. After long flight, I arrived at the host family s house and went to bed soon. Host family is very kind of me and everyone tried to understand what I talking about. Host family is very active, so I go out every weekend. School life is just still puzzling. I can t listen to English, I can t follow what everyone says. But classmates and teachers are very kind of me, and they always talk with me. I belong to volleyball team, and I enjoy to practice with my teammate. Now I have a lot of friends, and they teach me studies. I want to speak English more. This feeling gets stronger day by day. 2 [Nishi's report 9 月 ] 2014/09/29 小 川 先 生 みなさん お 元 気 ですか? 一 日 一 日 はすごく 充 実 していて 長 いのに 振 り 返 るともう 一 ヶ 月 か という 感 じです 8 月 29 日 9 月 1 日 3 泊 4 日 でホストファミリーと 海 に 行 きました 綺 麗 な 海 でのんびり 過 ごすことができ ホストファミリーに 感 謝 の 気 持 ちでいっぱいです 今 月 はバレーボールの 試 合 で 忙 しく バレーボール 漬 けの 月 でした しかも 13 日 に 行 われた 試 合 では 優 勝 することができ とても 嬉 しかったです そして 初 めての Pep Rally もありました Pep Rally はフットボールチームの 勝 利 を 願 って とりあえず 騒 ぐイベントで 日 本 では 考 えられない 盛 り 上 がりなので 私 も 我 を 忘 れて 騒 いでいます! 学 校 生 活 は 相 変 わらず 聞 き 取 れない 会 話 や 授 業 に 苦 労 していますが 以 前 より 友 達 も 増 えて 学 校 生 活 にも 慣 れてきたかな と 思 います 友 達 の 家 に 泊 まりに 行 ったり パーティーに 行 ったり 楽 しく 生 活 しています いつも 支 えて 下 さるホストファミリーや 友 達 に もっと 感 謝 の 気 持 ちを 伝 えたいのですが 自 分 の 英 語 力 の 無 さで 伝 えられないのが 本 当 に 悔 しいです 早 く 話 せるようになって もっと 会 話 がしたいです Mr. Ogawa and everyone, how are you? Each day is very long and full, but looking back over the days, it is very fast. From Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, I went to the sea with my host family. I m full of appreciation for my host family, because I could spend a relaxing time at the beach. This month, I was busy with volleyball games and practice. They are worth the practice, because we won the tournament, and we became the champion! I m very happy. I went to my first Pep Rally. It is an event to encourage our team to win the football game. People make a noise in this event much unthinkable in Japan. Of course, I enjoyed too. In school life, I still have difficulty with conversation and in class I can t understand. But I have more friends before and I am more accustomed to life in America little by little. I had a good opportunity to stay with my friend and to go to a party. I want to tell gratitude to people who always support me, but I can t because of my inability in English. I m frustrated, and hope I can speak English better soon because I want to talk more.

4 [Nishi's report 10 月 ] 10 月 レポート 2014/10/30 9 月 のレポートを 書 いてからもう1ヶ 月 たったのかという 印 象 です 9 月 29 日 から Homecoming week で 毎 日 違 ったテーマがあって それに 合 わせた 服 装 で 一 週 間 登 校 しました 月 曜 日 は 1980 年 代 の 服 装 火 曜 日 は 双 子 の 服 装 水 曜 日 はスーパ ーヒーロー 木 曜 日 はホームカミングでテーマはピーターパンだったので 私 はティンカ ーベルの 格 好 をしました 最 終 日 の 金 曜 日 はパジャマデーでした 本 当 に 毎 日 学 校 に 行 く のが 楽 しかったです! 10 月 2 日 には 生 徒 間 投 票 で 選 ばれた Homecoming court を 歩 く 生 徒 (maids)が 各 学 年 か ら 選 ばれて ドレスを 着 てフットボールフィールドを 歩 きました また その 中 から1 人 クィーンが 選 ばれました 仲 が 良 い 友 達 がたくさん maids に 選 ばれていて 私 まで 嬉 しか ったです 10 月 4 日 には Homecoming dance があり ドレスアップしてディナーを 食 べに 行 ってか らダンスをして 友 達 とホテルに 泊 まりました この 一 週 間 は どの 日 も 凄 く 新 鮮 で 充 実 していて 日 本 では 決 してできない 貴 重 な 経 験 に そして 思 い 出 になりました そして 初 めての STATE FAIR にも 行 きました そこには アメリカでしか 考 えられないような 変 わった 食 べ 物 がありました 日 本 で 言 う お 祭 りのようですが アトラクションまで 楽 しめました 10 月 は 半 日 の 日 や 祝 日 があって 友 達 の 家 に 行 ったり ご 飯 を 食 べに 行 ったり 日 本 で は 勉 強 漬 けでなかなかできなかったこともたくさんできました! バレーボールはプレイオフの 時 期 になりました 最 後 のトーナメントで 勝 ち 進 み 私 たち は 州 でベスト4になりました 本 当 はもっともっとこのチームでプレーしたかったですが 会 話 もまともにできない 私 を 歓 迎 し 声 をかけてくれたチームメートに 本 当 に 感 謝 してい ます でも 私 がもっと 英 語 を 話 せたらもっと 会 話 ができたのに という 気 持 ちは 凄 くあ ります 早 く 話 せるようになってもっと 友 達 やホストファミリーとスラスラ 会 話 したい 今 まではバレーボールの 活 動 が 忙 しく なかなか 自 習 の 時 間 をとれなかったのですが プ レイオフになった 今 少 しは 余 裕 ができたので 英 語 を 中 心 にもっと 日 本 の 勉 強 もしよう と 思 います 一 人 の 力 で 留 学 できているのではない このことを 心 に 留 めて 西 琴 音 Report of October 2014/10/30
5 It has been one month since I wrote the report of September. Homecoming week was September 29 through October 3. Each school day, we wore different themed clothes to go to school. Monday s theme was 1980 s. Tuesday s theme was famous twins day. Wednesday s theme was super heroes, Thursday was Homecoming and the theme was Peter Pan. I dressed as Tinkerbell. Friday was pajama day. I really enjoyed going to school everyday. On October 2, we voted for homecoming court (girls from each grade) to represent each class. The homecoming maids wore an elegant dress and were presented on the football field at the game. One girl was chosen to be homecoming queen. I was happy because my good friend was chosen to be a homecoming maid. On October 4, we had a homecoming dance party. Everyone dressed up and went to dinner and a dance. The girls spent the night at a hotel together. This week, I had many new experiences and I made many new memories. I went to my first State Fair. There were many attractions and rides. I saw many different foods that we do not have in Japan. It is like a Matsuri but with attractions. In October, we had some half days of school and one week there was no school on Monday. I went to stay with a friend at her house and we had lunch with our friends. I have more time here to spend with friends than in Japan! We are in the playoff season for Volleyball. We won our last game and we became a best 4 in the states. I m happy, but I want to play more with this team. I am thankful for my teammates because they talk with me in spite of my poor English. I want to learn to speak better English so I can talk more with my friends and host family. Now volleyball season is over, I have a more time, so I can study more focus on my English. 6 [Nishi's report 11 月 ] 2014/11/30 これが4 回 目 のレポートです 私 がここに 来 てから3ヶ 月 半 がすぎました 3ヶ 月 過 ぎれば 話 せるようになる と 言 う 人 もいますが 私 の 場 合 はまだまだ 時 間 がかか りそうです 一 歩 一 歩 進 んで 行 きたいと 思 います 学 校 の 方 は 色 々とイベントが 過 ぎ 去 って 少 し 落 ち 着 きました 10 月 31 日 はハロウィンで 私 はアナと 雪 の 女 王 のプリンセス アナの 仮 装 をして 学 校 に 行 き ホーンテッドハウスにも 行 きました 11 月 8 日 には 大 学 のフットボールの 試 合 を 初 めて 見 に 行 きました 凄 いと 聞 いていた のですが それは 想 像 以 上 でした 私 はその 場 の 独 特 な 空 気 を 十 分 に 楽 しみました 今 で は フットボールのファンになり また 機 会 があれば 行 きたいです 11 月 16 日 はディズニー オン アイスに 行 きました 本 場 アメリカでディズニーキャ ラクター 達 の 楽 しいショーを 見 て 私 は 本 当 に 幸 せでした その 後 は バレーボールの 最 後 のパーティーがありました コーチの 話 を 分 からないなが らも 懸 命 に 聞 いて 最 後 なのだ と 私 は 涙 をこらえるのに 必 死 でした このチームに 私 は 色 々 助 けられました 今 英 語 と 向 き 合 い くじけず 毎 日 楽 しみ 元 気 に 生 活 できるの はこのチームメートをはじめとする たくさんの 友 達 のおかげだと 思 います 日 本 の 友 達 からも 時 々 連 絡 をもらいます 自 分 から 連 絡 するのを 控 えている 分 連 絡 をも らうと 本 当 に 嬉 しいもので どんな 内 容 でも 私 にとって 本 当 に 大 きな 力 になります 11 月 23 日 から11 月 30 日 まで Thanksgiving でホストファミリーとその 家 族 とビー チに 行 きました Thanksgiving とは 人 々が 全 てのことに 感 謝 し 食 べ 物 を 持 ち 寄 って 大 き なディナーを 開 くというものです 私 たちは 毎 日 気 の 向 くままに 行 動 し 有 意 義 な 時 間 を 過 ごしました 私 が 日 本 人 であるのと 私 の 家 族 の 性 格 もあってかノープランで 旅 行 をし たことが 無 かった 私 は 初 めてだらけの 経 験 をとても 楽 しみました アメリカならではの 休 みだなと 感 じました 3ヶ 月 半 生 活 してきても 5 歳 児 に 英 語 を 訂 正 されるぐらい 話 せなくて 本 当 に 心 を 折 ら れそうになりますが まだまだ 頑 張 れそうです! 今 受 験 勉 強 で 必 死 の 私 の 大 切 な 仲 間 に 私 も 負 けていられません! 西 琴 音 2014/11/30 This is my fourth report. Time has passed since I came here. Some people say that three months is long enough to learn English. But I need more time. I want to advance step by step. My school life has calmed down a little because many events have passed.
7 Halloween was on October 31. I went to school dressed as Princess Anna from Frozen. After school I went to the haunted house with my friends. I went to my first college football game on November 8. I had heard it would be wonderful, but it was beyond my imagination. I enjoyed the exciting atmosphere. Now I am a football fan and would like to go to another football game in the future. I went to Disney on Ice on November 16. I saw this fantastic show in America, where Disney was founded. It made me very happy. The same day, I also went to our last volleyball party. I listened to the coaches speaking, though I did not understand everything. I felt this was the last time to hear my coaches and it was hard to hold back my tears. This team helped me so many times. Because of them, learning English is not as scary, I don t lose heart, and I enjoy everyday with many friends. My friends who live in Japan sometimes send me s. It makes me really happy to get messages from Japan, because I apprehensive about contacting them first. Every contact is fine for me; it makes me cheerful. I was at the beach with my host family and their family from November 23 to 30 for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the time people thank each other for everything and people provide food and hold a big dinner. I enjoyed going on a vacation where I didn t have plans, because I was able to do whatever I wanted. Maybe this is first time I have gone on this kind of trip because I m Japanese and my family likes trips that are fully planned. I feel this holiday is only in America. I have spent three months here, but I can t speak English well because I was taught English by a boy who is five years old. My heart is often broken, but I can do more! Now my dearest friends are making a desperate effort to pass the exam for college, so I have to do my best! Kotone Nishi
8 [Nishi's report 12 月 ] 2014/12/31 留 学 期 間 の 約 半 分 が 過 ぎました 時 が 経 つのは 本 当 に 早 いものですね 12 月 3 日 は Brain Injury Gala のパーティーに 行 ってきました ホストファザーの 仕 事 関 連 のパーティーで 二 度 と 出 来 ない 貴 重 な 経 験 でした 11 日 ホストブラザーが 冬 休 みでマイアミから 家 に 帰 ってきました とても 面 白 い 人 で 家 族 の 雰 囲 気 もまた 一 つ 明 るくなった 気 がします 本 当 に 家 族 みんなが 彼 を 恋 しがっていた のが 伝 わってきました 15 日 から 19 日 まではテスト 期 間 でした 初 めてのこっちに 来 てからの 大 きいテストでし たが 出 来 る 限 り 頑 張 りました 私 のホストファミリーはユダヤ 人 で クリスマスは 祝 わないのですが 12 月 16 日 から 8 日 間 Hanukkah というものを 祝 いました これもなかなか 出 来 ない 経 験 で 初 めてのこと だらけでした ユダヤ 人 の 宗 教 文 化 を 少 しでも 学 べて 良 かったです この 期 間 パーテ ィーなどもありホストマザーは 毎 日 たくさんの 料 理 を 作 るのに 忙 しそうでした 私 も Latke という 料 理 やケーキ 作 りを 手 伝 いましたが あんなにたくさんの 卵 とジャガイモを 見 たのは 初 めてです 20 日 24 日 にはクリスマスパーティーにも 行 きました そして 25 日 にホストファミリ ーにお 好 み 焼 きを 作 りました ホストファミリーにとって 関 係 ないとはいえ クリスマス ディナーを 作 るのは 本 当 に 緊 張 しました 今 までの 感 謝 の 気 持 ちを 込 めて 作 ったので 喜 ん でもらえて 良 かったです 26 日 は 塩 田 さんと 彼 の 奥 さんと 再 び 会 いました 塩 田 さんは 桃 山 の 卒 業 生 かつ EP の 先 輩 で アメリカの 方 と 結 婚 されこちらに 住 んでいる 方 です 三 人 では 以 前 に 学 校 で 会 った のですが 今 回 はホストファミリーも 交 えて 会 えて 少 しの 時 間 でしたが 話 せて 良 かった です 27 日 には 瞳 さんと 彼 女 のホストシスターが 家 に 来 ました 色 々 話 も 聞 けて 会 えて 良 かっ たです 瞳 さんはやっぱり 英 語 が 凄 く 上 手 で 早 く 彼 女 のように 英 語 が 話 せるようになり たいです 29 日 30 日 でニューオーリンズに 旅 行 に 行 きました たくさんの 面 白 いお 店 や 道 で 楽 器 を 演 奏 している 人 なども 居 て とても 賑 やかな 所 でした 観 光 や 水 族 館 動 物 園 にも 行 って 本 当 に 楽 しく 充 実 した 二 日 間 でした 今 年 は 私 の 周 りには 支 えて 下 さる 人 がたくさんいる と 実 感 した 年 でした 新 年 は 少 し でも 恩 返 しが 出 来 るよう 努 力 する 年 にしたいと 思 います 西 琴 音 Halfway finished with my days in America. 9 I went to the party of Brain Injury Gala on December 3. It is a party of my host father s work. I had a valuable experience because I ll never be able to go to this kind of party. My host brother came back home from Miami on December 11. He is funny, and he makes his family bright. I understood they really missed him. We had the exams from December 15 to 19. It was my first exams since I came here. I did my best. My host family is Jewish, so they don t celebrate Christmas. We celebrated Hanukkah for eight nights from December 16. It is something not many people get to experience. I am happy to spend this time with this family because I can learn a little about Judaism. My host mother was busy cooking so much food during it. I helped her to make cakes and latkes. I have never seen so many potatoes and eggs. I went to two Christmas parties on December 20 and 24. Then I cooked Okonomiyaki for my host family on December 25. They don t celebrate Christmas, but I was nervous to make the Christmas dinner. I cooked with my feelings of gratitude, and I was happy that they are happy. I met Shiota-san and his wife again on December 26. He graduated from Momoyamagakuin high school and was an exchange student in the past. Now he got married to an American woman, and lives in America. I met them at St. Andrews school once. This day, I met them with my host family, and we had a good time. I met Hitomi and her host sister at my host family s house on December 27. I heard a good story from her. She can speak English very well. I want to speak English as well as she does soon. I went on a trip to New Orleans from December 29 to 30. Many people play instruments and there were a lot of funny shops. It was a very good trip. I did some sightseeing. I went to the Zoo and the aquarium. I realized that it is supported by many people around me this year. I ll try hard to be able to repay them for their kindness in this new year. Kotone Nishi

11 [Nishi's report 1 月 ] 2015/01/31 新 学 期 が 始 まりました 残 りのアメリカでの 生 活 をもっと 充 実 したものにできるよう 日 々 頑 張 りたいと 思 います 1 月 1 日 ホストチェンジをしました 前 のホストファミリーと 離 れるのは 寂 しいけど 新 年 から 新 しい 環 境 で 学 習 できるのは 私 にとって 良 い 経 験 になると 思 います 前 のホスト と 過 ごす 最 後 の 日 の 夜 に 手 紙 を 読 みました 一 文 ずつ 気 持 ちを 込 めて 書 いて 読 んだので みんな 喜 んでくれて 本 当 に 嬉 しかったです 新 しいホストは 前 のホストとはまた 少 し 違 う 家 庭 で 最 初 は 少 し 戸 惑 ったけど 毎 日 元 気 に 楽 しく 暮 らしています 1 月 10 日 には ピーターパンの Play を 見 に 行 きました こっちに 来 てすぐに Play を 見 た ときは 全 然 理 解 できなかったのに 今 回 は 楽 しめたので 少 し 英 語 力 の 成 長 を 感 じました 1 月 12 日 から 少 しの 時 間 だけですが ソフトボールのトレーニングなどが 始 まりました ほぼ 初 心 者 の 私 ですが 丁 寧 に 教 えてもらって 楽 しんでいます 1 月 24 日 はとても 充 実 していました はじめに 前 のホストファミリーの 家 のベイビーシャ ワーに 招 待 されていたので 久 しぶりに 前 のホストファミリーに 会 いました みんな 元 気 そうで 良 かったです 何 よりも 久 しぶりにみんなの 笑 顔 を 見 ることができて 私 も 元 気 にな りました その 後 は 友 達 の 家 に 行 って 夜 のダンスパーティーの 支 度 をしました ダンスパーティー はホームカミングが 初 めてで 今 回 が 二 回 目 で あまり 分 からない 私 をみんなが 手 伝 ってく れました その 後 はみんなでディナーに 行 って ダンスに 行 きました みんなで 踊 ったり はねたりと 本 当 に 楽 しかったです ダンスの 後 は 友 達 の 家 で 泊 まってパーティーをしました アメリカに 来 て 初 めてこんなに 沢 山 の 友 達 が 来 るパーティーに 行 きました 初 めの 頃 は 英 語 が 話 せないのに 友 達 ができる のかと 少 し 不 安 でしたが 必 死 で 努 力 をした 結 果 いつの 間 にかこんなに 素 晴 らしい 友 達 に 囲 まれている 自 分 がいました もっと 話 せるようになり もっとみんなと 一 緒 にいたい 正 直 今 はそのために 英 語 を 毎 日 勉 強 しています 帰 国 日 も 決 まり 残 りのアメリカでの 生 活 も 少 なくなってきました 残 りの 期 間 で 私 がど こまで 成 長 できるのか 挑 戦 してみたいです 西 琴 音 January Second semester has started. I want to try more, because my stay in America will be better! I moved in with a new host family on January 1. I was sad to leave my former host
12 family, but I think it will be good for me to study in a new environment for the new year. On the last day I spent with my previous host family, I wrote and later read them heartfelt letter, and I am very glad they liked it. My current host family is different from my former host family. At first I was little perplexed, but now I am doing well and enjoying the new environment everyday. I went to see the play Peter Pan on January 10. When I saw the play in September, I didn t understand it very well, but this time I really enjoyed it because my English is getting better. Softball activity began on January 12. It is just working out and throwing, but it is so much fun! I am about the same level as a beginner, and my teammates teach me very kindly. January 24th was a full day. I went to my former host family s house and attended a baby shower in the morning. I saw them after a long time. I m glad they look fine. Their smiles made me happy and cheerful. Afterwards, I went to my friend s house and got ready for a dance party. This was my second dance party next to Homecoming, so my friends helped me. I also went to dinner with my friends. After dinner we went to a dance party. We danced and jumped together and it was so fun! After the dance, we went to my friend s house for party and spent the night. This is my first time to go to my friends big party. To tell the truth, at first I came here, I was a little uneasy because I cannot speak English well. I want to make friends, so I try to study English hard. Now I have a lot of wonderful friends. I want to talk with them and spend more time with them. This is why I can study English more and more. I decided the date I will return to Japan. The number of days to spend in America is getting fewer. I want to try to do my best during remaining days. Kotone Nishi
13 [Nishi's report 2 月 ] 2015/02/28 アメリカでの 生 活 も 残 すところ3ヶ 月 少 しとなりました 本 当 に 留 学 生 活 は 一 瞬 で 初 めての 体 験 ばかりなので いまだについこの 前 ここに 来 たよ うな 感 じがしています そして まだまだ 十 分 に 成 長 出 来 ていない 気 がして 日 本 には 帰 りたくないな という 印 象 です 短 い 期 間 の 中 でも 出 来 ることを 見 つけて 少 しでも 多 く 日 本 に 持 って 帰 れるように 努 力 し たいです 2 月 3 日 から ソフトボールの 本 格 的 な 練 習 が 始 まりました 初 心 者 ですが 少 しでも 上 手 くなれるように 頑 張 っています チームメートもコーチも 親 切 に 教 えてくれて 本 当 に 楽 しいです! 練 習 場 所 は 屋 外 と 室 内 の 二 つありますが 最 近 は 天 気 の 関 係 で 室 内 練 習 ば かりです 試 合 も 近 いので 少 しでも 試 合 にでて 絶 対 勝 ちたいです! 2 月 14 日 はバレンタインデー 作 るつもりは 無 かったのですが 少 し 時 間 があったので クッキーブラウニーを 作 りました 実 は 二 回 挑 戦 して 二 回 とも 完 璧 な 出 来 では 無 かった のですが みんな 喜 んでくれて 良 かったです そして 日 本 時 間 の14 日 私 の 大 切 な 友 達 がみんな 桃 山 学 院 高 校 を 卒 業 しました ずっ と 時 を 共 にしてきた 仲 間 がそれぞれの 道 に 進 んで 行 きました 留 学 するにあたって 同 学 年 の 友 達 と 一 緒 に 卒 業 出 来 ないのは 分 かっていましたが 私 が 日 本 に 戻 ってもみんなは 学 校 にいない と 思 うとやはり 寂 しいです でも 自 分 の 選 んだ 道 に 間 違 いはないと 確 信 し ていて 後 悔 もしていません 2 月 27 日 は 学 校 の 生 徒 のミュージカル 劇 に 行 きました 友 達 も 何 人 か 演 じていて とて も 楽 しみました でも ミュージカルなので 聞 きとるのは 少 し 難 しかったです 最 近 は 本 当 に 寒 く 悪 天 候 のために 学 校 が 遅 れて 始 まったり 休 校 になったりしました 私 もつい 風 邪 をひき 結 構 長 引 いてしまいました でも これも 経 験 のうちなのかな と 思 います いつも 助 けてくれるアメリカの 友 達 お 世 話 してくださるホストファミリー 離 れている のにいつも 気 にかけてくれる 家 族 に 感 謝 して 残 りの 生 活 思 いっきり 楽 しみたいと 思 い ます! 西 琴 音 Feb My stay in America is only about 3 months remaining. It feels very short to stay in America, and I still feel like only a few days have passed since I came here. Also I don t want to go back Japan because I don t think I have
14 learned enough yet. I want to try hard to learn things as much as possible during this short period of time. We start real softball practice on 3rd. Although I am a beginner, I am trying hard to get better. My teammates and coaches teach me very kindly, and practice is so much fun! We have two practice spaces, inside facility and softball field, but we do inside practice mostly because it is very cold these days. Our first game will come soon, I want to play on the game and we intend to win!!! Valentine s day is on 14th. I didn t plan to make something, but I made brownies to use a little time. To tell the truth, I tried to make it twice, but I couldn t make it perfectly. However my friends liked it and ate all of them. I m so glad. Same day in Japan time zone, my Japanese friends graduated from Momoyama gakuin high school. My precious friends who spent a long time with me are going their own way of life. Before I came here, I understood that I won t graduate with my friends. However, the fact that they won t be at school when I come back to school makes me sad. Nevertheless, I am sure my choice is right, so I don t regret it. I went to see the school musical on 27th. Some of my friends were in the play. I really enjoyed it, but musical was hard to hear. It is really cold these days. Our school was stared late or closed because of bad weather. I was sick few days, but I think this is also experience. I want to enjoy remaining days with a lot of gratitude to American friends who always helps me, host family who take care of me, and family who are always concerned about me. Kotone Nishi
