2 This Test Guide (pages 1-36), is produced by The Japan Foundation Centre for Japanese-Language Testing and is distributed at all test locations for examinees around the world. Please read this guide carefully, and apply for the test once you fully understand and agree with all the points stated within. Please note that this Test Guide contains sections concerning paper applications. In Australia, however, only online applications are accepted and paper applications are not allowed. Important information regarding this, specifically for Australian applicants, has been summarised in the first two pages (pages i-ii) between the front cover and page 1 of this guide.

3 IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: Information found on pages i and ii below supersede information in the body of this booklet. The JLPT in Australia accepts online applications only. Paper or postal applications are not allowed. This booklet contains useful information and is required reading. Where contradictions exist, the information on these two pages takes precedence. For information and updates visit How to Apply for the Dec 2016 JLPT in Australia Please contact the local Host Institution in the area where you wish to take the test or visit the website for the JLPT in Australia ( and follow the links to the online registration form. Host Institutions are listed further below. Application period: July 4 (Monday) - September 9, 2016 (Friday) Test date: December 4, 2016 (Sunday) 2016 JLPT in Australia Exam Locations Adelaide Brisbane Canberra Melbourne Perth Sydney Sun 3 July o o Sun 4 Dec o o o o o Test Voucher: Sent by on or before November 11 (Friday). All Examinees must print and bring the Test Voucher to the Test. It is not permitted to display the Test Voucher from a phone or electronic device. Ensure your name on the Test Voucher matches exactly the name on your photo identification. Test time: The assembly time will be printed on the Test Voucher. Assembly times vary between Host Institutions and an indicative time will be available during the application period. Test duration varies depending on Test Level and breaks. Please refer to the relevant pages in the Test Guide for a table of Test sections and durations. Test location: The assembly address will be printed on the Test Voucher. An indicative location will be available during the application period. For details, please contact the appropriate Host Institution. Amendment of examinee details Contact the local Host Institution or The Japan Foundation, Sydney (jlpt@jpf.org.au) as soon as possible if you need to amend the personal details you supplied during application. - i -

4 Ensure your postal address is accurate In order to receive your results and certificates, please notify your host institution of any change of postal address as soon as you know and before the results are posted. Special Testing Accommodations (for applicants with an impairment or disability) Register your application as normal. You must also contact your local Host Institution or The Japan Foundation, Sydney immediately after completing your application. Online Test Results (from early February, 2017) Your Examinee Registration Number and 8-digit password are required to check your test results online. The Examinee Registration Number is found on your Test Voucher (do not lose or delete it). Your 8-digit password can be viewed on the registration confirmation that you received immediately after application and payment. If you submitted an invalid 8-digit password during your application then you will not be able to access your test results online. 8-digit password Must be EXACTLY 8 NUMBERS. DON T use alphabet characters or symbols.
