In Hakuba, clinic hours are usually 8:30am 12pm and 1:30pm 5:30pm. Most clinics are closed on weekends and holidays. However, there is at least one doctor s office on duty for weekends and holidays. The natural hot springs water warms the body from the inside out, perfect after a day outdoors. Many onsen also offer health benefits, and for centuries, onsen in Japan have been used as a cure for physical ailments. How to Enjoy the Onsen Bath Sit down and rinse your body with hot water from the shower or bath. Enter the bath slowly. If the onsen water is hotter than you are accustomed to, start by putting only your feet or lower body into the bath. Be sure to drink plenty of water or tea after you get out of the onsen to prevent dehydration. How to Put on a Yukata Wash your body with soap before getting into the bath. After your body is used to the water temperature, immerse your entire body. To prevent dizziness, do not stay in the bath for long periods of time.
