1 Movable Background 1 1 Fat finger Movable Background Movable Background Movable Background Fitts Law Movable Background 2 Movable Background Evaluation of pointing performance on the Movable Background Interface Masahiro Miyashiro 1 Homei Miyashita 1 Abstract: To resolve the Fat finger problem, interfaces using movable background (called Movable Background method ) has been proposed. However, the performance evaluation on these interfaces has not been done yet. In this paper, we conducted two pointing tasks, one is that of Fitts law, the other is to assess the performance of number of cursor. The results indicate two things. Movable Background method is following Fitts Law. Operating time of Movable Background method becomes shorter as the number of cursor increases. Movable Background 方式の操作性能 評価 3.1 Fitts Law Fitts は人間のポインティングにおいて 操作時間と操作 精度にはトレードオフの関係があることを定式によってモ デル化した [5] これは Fitts Law として HCI のポイン ティング性能の尺度に幅広く用いられている Fitts Law の定式化については 一般に MacKenzie の提唱した以下 の定式 [8] 以下 Shannon の定式 が利用されている ( ) A M T = a + b log2 +1 (1) W ソル数についての議論は必要と考えられる よって 本研 このとき M T は操作を完了するまでの時間 a と b は実 究では第二にカーソル数と操作性能の相関について実験を 験によって決定される定数 A は経路長 W はターゲット (A ) 幅と定義される また log2 W + 1 に当たる部分を ID 行う 第 2 章にこれらの関連研究について述べる 第 3 章に Movable Background 方式の操作性能評価について述べる Index of Difficulty としている 今回の実験では ISO :2000[9] にある Annex B 第 4 章に Movable Background 方式におけるカーソル数と および JIS Z8519[10] にある附属書 B に記載された円形 操作性能について述べる 第 5 章にそれらを統括的に考察 ターゲットタスクをベースとして Fitts Law の適合性を する 測った 2. 関連研究 著者らの不動カーソル領域 [6] では 小型デバイスの画 3.2 実験 実験環境 面 4 つ角にカーソルを固定している 図 1 画面全体を 実験端末には ASUS 社製 Nexus 年モデル を スクロールすることでカーソル位置までターゲットを移動 使った ディスプレイ解像度は pixels で させる 移動させた後に 選択したいターゲット上にある 323ppi であった 実験システムの開発には Processing for カーソルをタップすることによって ポインティングがで Android v3.0.1 を使用した 実験参加者には タブレット きる スクロール領域とタップ領域が分離しているため 端末を普段使う場合と同様になるように持たせ 端末を持 操作ミスを軽減することに成功している たない手の人差し指で画面を操作させた Suzuki らの Fix And Slide[4] では Movable Background 実験デザイン 方式の考え方をタッチデバイスにおけるテキスト選択に適 図 3 に示すように 画面中央を中心とした円周上に 12 個 用した キャレットを画面上に固定し 固定したキャレッ の円形ターゲットを均等に並べる このとき Fitts Law トが選択位置に合うようにテキスト自体をスクロールする における経路長 A を画面中央を中心とした円の直径とし Shibata らの DriftBoard[7] では Movable Background 方式の考え方を小型デバイス上のソフトウェアキーボード て ターゲット幅 W を円形ターゲットの直径としてみな せる 図 3 左 に適用した 図 2 円状のカーソルを画面上に固定し ソ 今 回 の 実 験 で は A = {256, 384, 512} pixels W = フトウェアキーボード自体をカーソル下までドラッグして {24, 40, 64} pixels 実寸では A {20.1, 30.2, 40.3} mm 選択する W {1.89, 3.15, 5.03} mm とした c 2017 Information Processing Society of Japan 2
