1 key words Angle Acasereport of Angle Class II div. 1 with extraction of the upper second molars and the upper and lower four first premolars HIROKO TANAKA Aichi prefecture Obayashi Dental Clinic Summary The report describes orthodontic treatment of a 15 year 5 months old male patient with Angle Class II div. 1. The antero posterior skeletal relationship was skeletal Class II. The upper and lower incisors were labially inclined and the molar relationship was Angle Class II. The patient was diagnosed as skeletal maxillary protrusion with upper and lower incisor labial inclination and crowding. After the extraction of the upper second molars, Distal Jet appliance was placed to treat the Class II molar relationship. Then, after the extraction of the upper and lower first four premolars, 018 slot pre adjusted edgewise brackets were placed to treat the upper and lower incisor labial inclination and crowding. Finally, the upper third molars occluded to the lower second molars. After orthodontic treatment, the facial profile was significantly improved, and an acceptable occlusion was achieved.
