1 京都外国語大学 ( 京都府 ) 歴史都市京都で日本語と日本文化を学ぶ留学生のためのコース大学紹介 1 大学の特色および概要 PAX MUNDI PER LINGUAS - 言語を通して世界の平和を - 本学が京都外国語学校として創立された 1947 年 ( 昭和 22 年 )5 月終戦後間もないこの当時に何よりも求められたものは世界の平和でありその基盤としての国際的理解でしたそしてこの国際的理解を図るための外国語をマスターしその文化経済社会に熟知した人材の育成は急務でした本学の建学の精神である PAX MUNDI PER LINGUAS ( 言語を通して世界の平和を ) とは世界平和達成への創立者の強い願いが込められており創立以来不撓不屈を教育研究の基本精神としているのは外国語を専攻する者にとって不断の努力が何よりも重要だからです 2 国際交流の実績 26 カ国 74 大学 3 過去 3 年間の受入れ留学生数及び日本語日本文化研修留学生の受入れ実績 2014 年 : 留学生数 78 人日本文化研修留学生 :5 人大学推薦 : 1 人 2013 年 : 留学生数 93 人日本文化研修留学生 :4 人大学推薦 : 1 人 2012 年 : 留学生数 89 人日本文化研修留学生 :2 人コースの概要留学生別科国費外国人留学生も留学生別科の授業を受講します 1 コースの特色世界の人々が憧れる京都で日本語と日本文化を学ぶ留学生のためのコース世界各国から集まる留学生を対象に 5 段階のレベルに応じたクラスできめ細やかな日本語指導を展開する留学生別科研修旅行や多彩なイベントのほか学内外での日本人学生との交流や留学生同士の多文化交流も盛んに行われ留学生たちは全身で日本を感じて楽しみながら日本語能力の向上に励んでいます 2 受入定員 50 名 ( 大使館推薦 5 名 ) 4 地域の特色京都は日本の文化伝統の中心地であるだけでなく常に多くの旅行者や外国人留学生を受け入れ国際会議などが開かれる国際的な都市です日本文化の伝統的かつ近代的な要素を取り入れ世界各国と強い繋がりを持つかつて首都であった京都は世界の言語文化を学ぶには最適の環境と言えるでしょう

2 3 受講希望者の資格条件等外国籍を有し 18 歳以上の者で外国において学校教育における 12 年の課程を修了した者でかつその教育機関所在国の大学入学資格を有する者 4 達成目標本学または他の日本の大学に入学を希望する外国人国際交流協定大学が本学に派遣する留学生を対象に設けられた 1 年の課程でこれらの学生に対して日本語を教授し併せて日本事情に関する理解を深めさせることを目的としています 5 研修期間 2015 年 9 月 20 日 ~ 2016 年 9 月 19 日修了式は 7 月を予定 (2015 年は 7 月 25 日 ) 6 研修科目の概要 1) 基礎日本語 ( 必須科目 ) 基礎日本語のクラスはプレースメントテストおよび面接 (4 月 9 月 ) の結果によってレベル 1~5 にクラス分けを行いますこの指示されたクラスのもとに春学期 10 単位秋学期 10 単位合計 20 単位を修得しなければなりません 2) 見学地域交流等の参加型科目秋学期研修旅行 (1 日 ) 春学期研修旅行 (1 泊 2 日 ) 施設見学フィールドワークをとおして日本文化研修を行います京都三大祭 ( 葵祭祇園祭時代祭 ) 伝統を誇る京都の三大祭のうち祇園祭と時代祭を授業の一環として見学します 3) その他の講義選択科目等選択科目春学期秋学期を通じて 10 単位以上を修得しなければなりません修了後の進路や目的によって選択する科目が異なりますので登録前にクラス担任の先生に相談して登録科目を決めます学部聴講留学生別科の選択科目以外に京都外国語大学 ( 学部聴講 ) のクラスを受講することができますプロジェクト科目国際社会で活動するグローバルな人材の育成を目的とし留学生と日本人学生と協働して実践する科目です模擬国連コース日本の文化研究日本のモノづくり研究など 7 年間行事 9 月オリエンテーションプレースメントテスト秋学期授業開始 10 月秋学期研修旅行時代祭見学 11 月外大祭 12 月冬季休暇開始 1 月冬季休暇終了秋学期授業終了 4 月オリエンテーションプレースメントテスト春学期授業開始新入生歓迎スホーツフェスティハル 5 月春学期研修旅行 6 月六月祭 7 月祇園祭見学春学期授業終了修了式

4 Kyoto University of Foreign Studies Studying Japanese and Japanese Culture in Historical City, Kyoto Introduction 1 PAX MUNDI PER LINGUAS -World Peace through Languages- Our university was originally established under the name Kyoto School of Foreign Languages in May of It was soon after World War Ⅱ, when a great demand had arisen for an international understanding which would lead to world peace. One of the urgent requirements to accomplish this goal was to develop young Japanese men and women who could not only master foreign languages, but understand cultures, economies and societies of the world. The motto of our university, PAX MUNDI PER LINGUAS (World Peace through Languages) has represented the founders strong wish for achieving world peace. In addition to the Latin motto, the importance of an indomitable spirit has also been emphasized and valued as a primary basis for education and research, because that is what the founders believed to be an essential quality for students of foreign languages to possess. 2 Number of Partner Universities 26 countries, 74 partner universities 3 Number of Overseas Students 2014: 78 Students, MEXT Scholarship:6 2013: 93 Students, MEXT Scholarship:5 2012: 89 Students, MEXT Scholarship:2 4 The Feature of Kyoto Kyoto is not only a center of the Japanese culture and tradition but also an international city which accepts a great many travelers, foreign students and international conferences. Having both traditional and modern aspects gleaned from the Japanese culture and maintaining close relations with the rest of the world, this former capital offers you a perfect environment in which to study languages and cultures of the world. Course in Japanese Studies for Overseas Student Japanese Government Scholarship students register classes from this course. 1 On the Course This is a one-year training course in Japanese Studies for foreign students who are studying Japanese for the first time, or who do not have sufficient Japanese skill and knowledge. More than 70 overseas students including exchange students from partner universities, study in this course to master basic skills and gain knowledge about Japanese and Japan. 2 Number of Students to be Admitted 50 students(including 5 Japanese Government Scholarship students )

3 Application Qualification Those 18 years old or older with foreign nationality, who have completed 12 or more years of formal education in their country, and, who are qualified to enter university

5 3 Application Qualification Those 18 years old or older with foreign nationality, who have completed 12 or more years of formal education in their country, and, who are qualified to enter university in the said country are eligible. 4 Aims This is a one-year course designed for overseas students who wish to study at a Japanese university and for exchange students from our partner universities abroad. This course aims at improving the Japanese language skill and deepening the understanding of the country. 5 Course Period September 20,2015- September 19,2016 Completion Ceremony in July (July 25,2015 for the ceremony) 6 Subjects 1) Required Subjects Through a placement test and interview (implement in April and September), student will be placed into one of the five levels of Basic Japanese. In order to complete the course, the student is required to take 10 credits in Spring semester and 10 credits in Fall semester, altogether 20 credits in one year. 2) Study Tours and Field Trips Autumn and Spring Semester Study Tour Get to know more about Japanese Culture through field trips to local facilities and fieldwork. Three Traditional Festivals in Kyoto (Aoi Matsuri, Gion Matsuri, Jidai Matsuri) Among these three famous Kyoto festivals, field trips to Gion Matsuri and Jidai Matsuri are part of the course. 3) Others Elective Subjects The student is required to take more than 10 credits throughout the Spring and Fall semester and is required to consult with class instructors before completing the registration. Subjects of the faculty Besides the subjects of the Course in Japanese Studies for Overseas Students, student can also take subjects of the faculty to complete the credits for Elective Subjects. Project-Based Leaning Subjects These subjects for both Japanese and international students. 6 8 Instruction and Counseling Academic counseling is provided for all students by six full time teachers who coordinate the compulsory courses and 23 part time teachers. Non-academic counseling is provided mainly by stuff in charge of international students and full time teachers. Accommodation Arrangement by KUFS Kyoto University of Foreign Studies arranges every student a dormitory or apartment room. (The location will be decided by KUFS.) All rooms organized by KUFS are furnished single rooms. Please note that there is no Homestay arrangement via KUFS. 9 Requirements for Completion A Certificate of completion will be awarded to all fulltime students successfully completing 30 credits in a year (15 credits per semester).
