Bulletin of Faculty of Education, Nagasaki University: Curriculum and Teaching No.52i2012jP-10 P Þ ÞÞ ÞÞÞ The current status and related issues of cultivation learning in elementary school TateoHASHIMOTOÞ AsukaKAWAGOEÞÞ Asa KIHARAÞÞÞ Received October Summary Japanese society is concerned about a decline in academic standards of science and has an ongoing discussion about the cause and the resolution of it. There is some concern about that moving from nature of children. Children do not have many chances to play in nature field in present Japan. In according to this situation, the revision of the curriculum guidelines in more emphasized the importance of firsthand experience in science class. The cultivation learning in class of science or integrated study is very important chance as a means of supplementing children's experience in nature. Although it is traditional content and achieved a certain result, but it has to change from passive learning to active learning. This research investigated current status and related issues of cultivation learning in elementary school. The result revealed that it needs to improve ways to motivate students and build student's feeling of accomplishment although each school exercised ingenuity of the contents. Þ ÞÞ ÞÞÞ
