N8103-94 増 設 バッテリ ご 使 用 時 の 注 意 事 項 この 度 は 本 製 品 をお 買 い 上 げ 頂 きまして 誠 に 有 り 難 うございます 本 製 品 におきまして 注 意 事 項 がございます 誠 に 申 し 訳 ありませんが 下 記 の 内 容 をご 確 認 いただき ご 使 用 時 にご 注 意 く ださるようお 願 い 申 し 上 げます 1.バッテリのAutoLearnMode 設 定 変 更 のお 願 い Please set Auto Learn Mode of the battery ディスクアレイコントローラの 出 荷 時 設 定 では30 日 毎 にバッテリの 放 電 再 充 電 (LearnCycle) を 行 います LearnCycleはバッテリの 正 確 な 情 報 を 測 定 し メモリ 効 果 によるバッテリ 容 量 の 低 下 を 抑 止 するためのものです LearnCycleを 完 了 するまで12 時 間 前 後 かかります その 間 ディ スクアレイコントローラのライトキャッシュ 設 定 はライトスルーとなり ライト 性 能 が 低 下 します のでご 注 意 下 さい Learncycleによる 性 能 低 下 を 避 けたい 場 合 は 2.AutoLearnMode 設 定 変 更 のフロー に 従 ってAutoLearnMode 設 定 をAutoからDisableに 変 更 してください 設 定 はWebBIOS またはMegaRAIDStorageManager(MSM)で 行 うことができます The disk array controller executes a learn cycle which discharges and charges the battery every 30 days. Learn Cycle calibrates accurate battery information and refrains from reducing its capacity by battery memory effect. It takes about 12 hours to finish a learn cycle. However please note that write performance of the controller can be dropped down because write policy of the controller becomes write thru during the learn cycle. If you want to avoid performance drop, please change Auto Learn Mode from Auto to Disable. Auto Learn Mode can be changed on WebBIOS or MegaRAID Storage Manager. See the following procedures for details.

If you set AutoLearnMode to Disable, executing a learn cycle manually every 3 to 6 months is recommended. See section 5 for the steps to execute it. Start 増 設 バッテリを 取 り 付 けた 後 累 計 で12 時 間 以 上 システムを 立 ち 上 げた 状 態 にして 下 さい 途 中 で OSを 再 起 動 シャットダウンしても 問 題 ありません After you installed the battery, leave the system on for more than 12 hours. You can reboot or shutdown the system on the way. 装 置 を 再 起 動 し POSTで 以 下 のメッセージが 表 示 されるかどうか 確 認 して 下 さい Reboot the system and check whether the message below is displayed at POST or not. Your battery is either charging, bad or missing, and you have VDs configured for write-back mode. How to check battery logs. Then reboot the system and check the POST message again. 3.バッテリログの 確 認 手 順 How to check battery logs ご 購 入 時 に12 時 間 以 上 システムを 立 ち 上 げた 状 態 にした 後 POSTに 下 記 のメッセージが 表 示 された 場 合 はMegaRAIDStorageManagerを 起 動 し 新 しく 表 示 された 方 ( 一 番 上 )から 順 にログ の 内 容 を 確 認 し 以 下 の 手 順 に 従 ってください If you see the message below after the system has been kept on for more than 12hours since you installed the battery, start MegaRAID Storage Manager and check the logs in order from the top (the newest) to the bottom. Then follow the steps below. Your battery is either charging, bad or missing, and you have VDs configured for write-back mode. Because the battery is not usable,these VDs will actually run in write-through mode until the battery is replaced. After you find the log Battery charge complete, reboot the system and check whether the POST message is displayed or not. 3-2.Batterystartedchargingというログが 表 示 された 場 合 If you see the log Battery started charging バッテリは 充 電 中 です 直 前 にBatteryrelearncompletedというログが 表 示 されている 場 合 はOSを3 時 間 以 上 立 ち 上 げた 状 態 にして 下 さい Batterychargecompleteというログが 表 示 された 後 装 置 を 再 起 動 し POSTメッセージが 表 示 されないことを 確 認 して 下 さい Battery relearncompletedというログが 表 示 されていない 場 合 はOSを12 時 間 以 上 立 ち 上 げた 状 態 にして 下 さい Keep the system on for more than 3 hours if you see the log Battery relearn completed just prior to the log. If you do not, keep the system on for more than 12 hours. Then reboot the system and check whether the POST message is displayed or not.

Batteryrequiresreconditioning;pleaseinitiateaLEARNcycleというログが 表 示 された 場 合 If you see the log Battery requires reconditioning; please initiate a LEARN cycle 以 下 の 手 順 でLearnCycleを 手 動 で 実 行 して 下 さい Follow the steps to execute a learn cycle manually. 1. AutoLearnModeをDisableに 設 定 して 下 さい 4 項 の 手 順 参 照 SetAutoLearnModetoDisable.Followthestepsinthesection4. 2. LearnCycleを 手 動 で 実 行 して 下 さい 5 項 の 手 順 参 照 Initiatealearncyclemanually.Followthestepsinthesection5. 3. LearnCycle 実 行 後 AutoLearnModeをAutoに 戻 して 下 さい Afterlearncycleisstarted,setAutoLearnModetoAuto. 4. システムを8 時 間 以 上 立 ち 上 げた 状 態 にして 下 さい Keep the system on for more than 8 hours. 5. Batterychargecompleteというログが 表 示 された 後 装 置 を 再 起 動 しPOSTで 上 記 メッ セージが 表 示 されないことを 確 認 して 下 さい After you see the log Battery charge complete, reboot the system and check whether the POST message is displayed or not. POSTメッセージが 表 示 されないときに 上 記 ログが 登 録 される 場 合 がありますが learn cycleを 実 行 する 必 要 はありません Even when the POST message is NOT displayed at POST, this log would be registered at POST in some cases. But you do not have to execute a learn cycle. 4.AutoLearnModeの 設 定 手 順 How to set Auto Learn Mode AutoLearnModeはWebBIOSまたはMSMで 設 定 することができます 以 下 の 手 順 に 従 ってください You can set Auto Learn Mode on WebBIOS or MSM. OSを 立 ち 上 げ MSMを 起 動 する Boot OS and start MSM. 2. 画 面 左 のPhysicalタブをクリックし Battery Backup Unitをクリックする Click Physical tab in the Left flame of the window and then click Battery Backup Unit. 3. 画 面 右 のOperationsタブをクリックし Set BBU Propertiesをクリックする Click Operations tab in the Right flame of the window and then click BBU Properties. 4. Auto Learn ModeをDisabledに 設 定 し その 下 のGoをクリックする 以 下 の 画 面 参 照 Set Auto Learn Mode to Disabled and then click Go. See the screen below.
