To the Conference of District 2652 It is physically impossile for Mary Jane and me to attend the District Conferences around the world. As a result, we must use representatives for that purpose. I have asked Tario Kanno and his lady Kiyo to serve in that way for me at your Conference. The theme for this year is ENJOY ROTARY and I sincerely hope that you are finding ways to do just that. The many facets of Rotary provide an opportunity for everyone to find a Rotary activity that fits their personal interests. When you enjoy what you are doing in Roatary, you will be practicing this year's theme! The District Conference each year is intended to be the showplace of Rotary for your year in Rotary. Participate in its every activity and you will see new activities in your district. In particular, please try to meet some Rotarians that you haven't met before. Make acquaintances from other areas in your district and find out what they are doing in Rotary. I never met a Ratarian I didn't like. You won't either. Keep in mind that Rotary is a worldwide organization. My personal representative, Tario, will bring you information about Rotary in other parts of the world that will interest you. Please make an effort to talk with him and his 1ady. They will appreciate your friendliness and will carry home some pleasant memories of your district because of you.
