Hello,everyone!! damper Briony Miller Although it s heating up in Australia, as it gets colder in Japan, I crave hot soups and stews with warm Aussie damper! Damper is traditional Australian bread that was eaten by swagmen who lived and roamed the Australian outback. Originally, damper was cooked in the ashes of a bush fire, however, when I was a child, we often used a greased camp oven with ashes covering the lid. Try it hot with your favourite soup or stew, or with butter and jam or honey.
