プロスポーツと 地域発展 １１９ 以上は プロスポーツやメガ スポーツイベントを都市社会学の新たな潮流に呼応させなが ら批判的な読みを展開していったものと理解される しかし 同様にあくまで積極的にこれら を位置づける試みもなされてきている それは スポーツの側からの文化的 社会的可能性を 示唆するスポーツの遺産論 Ｋｉ ｄｄ ２００２ であり スポーツの順機能を前提とした経験的研 究の蓄積 Ｗｅｂｓ ｔ ｅ ｒｂｅｅｋ ｅ ｔａ ｌ ２００２ Ｍｏｎｄｅ ｌ ｌ ｏ２００３ である これらを含めた一定の到達 点はＨｅｎｒｙ Ｇｒａ ｔ ｔ ｏｎ ２００１ によって示され その後もサッカー ワールドカップを対象と した研究 Ｈｏ ｒｎ Ｍａｎｚｅｎｒｅ ｉ ｔ ｅ ｒ２００４ など 都市とスポーツをめぐる議論は 着実に深め られつつある ところで こうした研究は 若干のタイムラグを伴いながらも日本にも影響を及ぼしてきて いる その端緒が Ｊリーグ発足を念頭においた 都市問題 の特集 １９９４年１２月号 と いってよい ここでプロスポーツは 地域社会 須田 １９９４ 都市計画 大西 １９９４ スポ ーツ政策 内海 １９９４ 開発 小岩井 １９９４ との関連で詳しく検討されていった なかで も須田は 先の欧米における研究をいち早く紹介し かかる研究領域の輪郭を描き出した こ の問題は 後にワールドカップ等メガ スポーツイベントを控える自治体の都市計画や経営と いった観点から検討されていった 島倉 西村 １９９６ 財 自治体国際化協会 １９９７ 佐藤 １９９８ 加えて 都市社会学の領域からも開発をめぐる問題として新たな位置づけを与えられ 言及されるようになってきている 町村 １９９９ 増田 ２０００ 他に スタジアムを 都市の 集客装置 と位置づけるスポーツ地理学からのアプローチ 杉本 １９９９ も散見される しか し ワールドカップ開催を契機に出されたのが プロスポーツやイベントを経済発展の触媒と 位置づける研究 原田 ２００２ 上條 ２００２ や文化研究 黄 ２００３ メディア研究 牛木 黒田 ２００３ であったことは 日本におけるスポーツ研究がどこに向かっているかを象徴的に 示していたといってよいであろう 図 都市とプロスポーツ メガ イベント研究史 略図
