1 論文都市社会の公共性と社会的共通資本現代都市社会の社会学的認識枠組みに, 鈴木広が体系化した私化する私性と全体化する全体性を活用すると, 後者の主な構成要因に公共性が位置づけられる. 本論文では, 公共性を公と共に細分して,それぞれの特徴を都市社会学と都市政策論の文脈で考察する. 同時に公共財の議論を経て, 宇沢弘文に代表される社会的共通資本の概念と理論をヴェーバーの価値自由の観点から整理する.その結果, 東日本大震災後においても重要な社会的共通資本としての道路, 堤防, 港湾, 学校, 病院,ライフラインなどの復旧復興工事では, 同じく社会的共通資本としての大気の一部である二酸化炭素の排出量が膨大になるにもかかわらず,この関係が社会的共通資本論史では完全に無視されてきたことを論証する. 社会的共通資本であるこの両者の関連について黙殺してきた学術的な非現実性を指摘して, 都市研究の全体性へのアプローチとしての都市学を改めて主張しつつ, 人口学と環境論と生活の質論を加えた新しい都市研究パラダイムの可能性を示唆する.
