Cain & Abel: False Religion vs. The Gospel

Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD. And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground. In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. Genesis 4:1-8

So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. The LORD said to Cain, Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it. Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

4:1-8

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. Genesis 3:15

Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living. If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it. Genesis 3:20

I have gotten a man from the Lord. (KJV) Hebrew: I have gotten a man, the LORD. " 4:1

In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, Genesis 4:3

And Abel on his part brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. Genesis 4:4-5

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain Hebrews 11:4

And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. Genesis 4:4-5

If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:7

If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:7

And Cain told Abel his brother, and it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Genesis 4:8

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. John 8:44

We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. 1 John 3:12

We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother s righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you. 1 John 3:12

you will be hated by all for my name s sake. Matthew 10:22

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted 2 Timothy 3:16

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, [the prince of demons] how much more will they malign those of his household. Matthew 10:24-25

By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
