Univ. 40 2 57 68 2011 A consideration on the theory of beauty of rhythmic gymnastics In relation to the code of points Ikuko URATANI Abstract: This research discusses the issues about the aesthetic theory concerning rhythmic gymnastics, mainly from the perspective of its rules and clears up that rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that places emphasis on rhythm and beauty. As a result of the discussion, the following issues were revealed, and it was confirmed that rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that places emphasis on rhythm and beauty. According to the code of points of rhythmic gymnastics, the targets for evaluation are degree of difficulty, artistic quality and practice. However, the performance structure consists of a combination of the difficulty of each element, so that all elements are understood as degree of difficulty. In other words, all elements are evaluated mainly based on the difficulty element of each element, and as a result, biases occur in scoring. Furthermore, it was revealed that physical flexibility is deeply involved in the degree of difficulty.
