Nail growth is disturbed with the distal bulge of nail bed which occurred after nail avulsion or cutting back of the nail. That is "disturbed re-growing nail" or "distal bulge of nail bed". This condition is the first stage of onychogryphosis. It is logically concluded that the disturbed re-growing nail may be re-growing to the distal direction, if the distal soft tissue wall is pressed down with sculptured nail or something. So five patients with disturbed re-growing nail were treated with sculptured nail, re-growing nail reached the tip of finger or toe. Pincer nail is characterized by an excessive transverse curvature of the nail plate. Transverse overcurvature of the nail plate is corrected with sculptured nail. The distallateral of the nail plate was cut off by nail clipper. Sculptured nail was formed on the nail plate in normal shape of nail. This procedure was repeated 2 or 3 months interval.three patients with pincer nail were treated with sculptured nail and cured. Sculptured nail is useful for the treatment of nail deformities.
