Participating in FSOT s Basic English Class Quarterly Newsletter Basic Englishのクラスを取って by Ms. Takae Shimizu, Tama Lodge 清水たかえ 多摩ロッジ Although I ve wanted to study English, I didn t know what study materials to use and I couldn t find a suitable way for myself to study. In the end, I put off studying English. However, recently, I enrolled into FSOT s Basic English Class; I ve learned standard English expressions, the names of electrical appliances, foods, clothes, how to tell time, daily conversational items and grammar. 英語を勉強したくても どんな教材を使ったらいいのか分からなかった Not only do we learn from the textbook, but also we also talk about culture and lifestyle in the States. Students have the opportunity to speak English to each other in a friendly learning environment. When we come up with questions during the class, we can always ask the instructor for an answer. Ms. Emi Aoi is very knowledgeable on the English language and works diligently on each class s training plan. ども話し合うこともあります また 生徒同士で会話の練習をすることもで The class provides a relaxing atmosphere and an encouraging environment for students to study with other people who also want to learn English. り 自分に合った勉強方が見出せず 途中で投げ出したりして長続きし ませんでした Basic Englishのクラスでは 初級の英語表現や文法 身 近な電化製品 衣服 食料品の名前 時間の言い方 日常会話や文法な どを学ぶことができました クラスでは 教材の内容を学ぶだけでなく アメリカの文化や生活習慣な きます 疑問があればいつでも問うことができ 先生も知識が豊富で い つも工夫して授業をしてくれます 和気藹々とした雰囲気で 英語を勉強したいという仲間がいることも勉 強する励みになります
Course Descriptions クラスの 概 要 Microsoft Computer Based Integrated Microsoft software courses are offered at the FSS Institute classroom from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment. Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 7 courses are self-paced, interactive, step-by-step simulation, ranging from beginner to advanced learning. FSOT also has Japanese versions of these programs available. This training is available to FSS personnel. This course is mandatory for all unit members that require CPR certification. このプログラムは 救 急 隊 が 到 着 するまで 生 命 の 維 持 や 怪 我 や 病 気 による 影 響 を 最 小 限 にするための 知 識 や 技 術 を 提 供 します Cash Handler s (in English) This is a MANDATORY annual training requirement for all FSS employees who handle or manage monetary transactions or work in secure areas for storing cash. This course is instructed by the Resource Management Department. 金 融 取 引 に 関 わる 管 理 をする または 現 金 保 管 の 保 護 地 域 で 働 くFSS 従 業 員 全 てに 義 務 付 けられた コースです 資 源 管 理 部 署 によって 行 われます Citizen CPR (in English and Japanese for FSS members only) In accordance with the Services and Education Plans (STEPs), this course is mandatory for employees who require CPR training but not certification. Members will learn Hands-only CPR and other required techniques. The Office 2007 courses are self-paced, interactive with step by step simulation. Total Force Awareness, Office 2007, Windows Vista, 空 軍 訓 練 コース サービス 部 管 理 コースな どが 提 供 されます Office 2007のコースは 自 分 の ペースでできる 相 互 的 段 階 的 に 疑 似 体 験 ができます Customer Service English (in Japanese) This course is designed to assist members that are working in a Customer Service or Hospitality environment. Vocabulary, phrases and situations common in customer service and hospitality areas will be covered in this class. 接 客 での 英 語 での 意 思 疎 通 のために 構 成 されています 接 客 に 必 要 な 語 句 や 慣 用 句 を 学 びます Dram Shop (for FSS employees only) A MANDATORY course required annually for all FSS employees who sell or serve alcoholic beverages. Please reference AFI 34-219 for more information. アルコール 飲 料 の 販 売 や 取 扱 いをするFSS 従 業 員 全 てに 義 務 付 けられた 年 次 訓 練 です 詳 しくは AFI34-219を 参 照 して 下 さい (for FSS employees only) A yearly refresher course mandatory for all FSS employees (military and civilian). FSS 従 業 員 に 義 務 付 けられた 年 次 講 習 です 軍 人 民 間 人 と もに 必 要 条 件 を 満 たすため 毎 年 受 講 する 必 要 があります (for FSS employees only) This is a mandatory orientation for new unit members that must be completed within their first 30 days within the organization. Course topics include information on safety, ethics, cultural diversity, harassment, resource protection and customer service. This course is split into two days.
