UX 1 77 Commentaries on Art Gallery Display Conceived with User-Experience Design. Part 1: Problem and the study plan YOSHIMURA Hirokazu and SEKIGUCHI Hiromi Abstract Though the exhibits of art museum usually have not its display commentary, the necessity of commentary is rapidly increasing, for not a small number of art museums have been introducing sound guide system, and in addition, for web museums have been spreading recently. It is not appropriate for art museums only to follow the commentary method of science museums. They should develop their own commentary method, because visitors to art museums would appreciate the exhibits strongly based on their kansei aesthetic sense. In the present research, we recommend to distinguish the explicit and implicit dimensions of art works, which terms are originated from Markovi c &Radonji c 2008. Based on this classification, we make several types of display commentary and plan an experiment to assess the effectiveness of the commentary. The experiment will be carried in near future using UX userexperience design technique which has been developed in the field of product design.
