My Life in Japan Widchayapon SASISAKULPON (Ing) I ve been studying as an exchange student in WJC program for about 4 months now. This is the first time I came to Japan and also the first time I live abroad. But actually I ve been familiar with Japanese culture through many media since I was little so I didn t have a hard time adjusting. Live in the dorm is very comfortable and lively that I rarely feel lonely. I m taking a lot of classes in this semester which allow me to gain a deeper understanding about Japanese culture, economy, and politics. I also have Japanese language classes in the morning. In my opinion, learning new culture and language is not only to understand a different society, but to also widen our perspective in life, which is why I decided to come to Japan. Almost every week we have field study and a monthly field trip to many interesting places. Within a short time, I ve seen and learned a lot more in a way that I don t think I can just by taking a short visit to Japan or any other country. Even though Everyday I learn new things and I m still having a hard time communicating in Japanese, Fukuoka feels like a second home to me. It is a really nice and peaceful city and people I met are very kind. My first few weeks here went by very slowly but as the time passes the faster it seems to be. As much as I miss my friend and my family in Thailand, and though I still have more than half a year left in WJC program, I already wish I had more time to experience even more interesting things in Fukuoka and Japan. I am very happy that I m able to join this exchange program and get to meet a lot of new friends. I hope I will continue to meet even more wonderful people and make a lot more wonderful memories with everyone in FWU. 6 Fukuoka Women s University NO.80 2012.9.30 7
