REPORTS TOPICS Last year, the Public Relations Committee, General Affairs Section and Professor Tomoki Machida created the IIS introduction video in Japanese. As per the request from Director General Tomonari Yashiro, we have created an English version of the video this year. Since the video is barely over 10-minute long, we could introduce limited research contents in the video. However, the contents are effective in presenting the diverse research conducted at IIS. This introduction video is very useful when external clients and visitors come to meet us it provides an overview of IIS or can simply entertain them while they are waiting. The video can be found on the IIS's website. Visit the homepage and click on What is IIS? and then on Introduction Video, or go directly to http://www.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/movies_e/ movie.html. Here, you can easily view the video directly from the web via streaming (streamed video). Although the easiest way to show the video is via the Internet, you can also borrow a physical media format such as a DVD or a memory stick by inquiring at the General Affairs Section so that the video can be shown anywhere using a media player or any other software on a personal computer.
