The standard and de facto standard in a science museum collection * Akio OCHIAI Abstract It was engaged in work of collection arrangement in CHIABA MUSSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY, and one year passed..from historical valuables, what played an active part in our personal appearance to recently just be saved on the shelf. And it is waiting for the turn to an exhibition room. Many collections have now many which are not used..it is interesting when it finds having stopped whether being used why one by one. There are also some which were not able to obtain a de facto standard, having what does not meet a demand of a consumer, the thing which yielded the younger generation the way by progress of technology, and the outstanding function. Here, it is involved in a consumer's selection, a maker's convenience, and price competition, and focus is applied and verified for the product which became the "winner" who won straight victories in an intense competition, and the "loser" who has lost with unwillingness.
