Abstract the Case of Changchun City Badminton Club In the 1980s and later in China, many sport manufacturers have been founded in coastal area. These manufacturers are producing sportswear and sports equipment for foreign sports equipment and sportswear companies. Also, due to the development of mass media in China, sports media and content industries have also developed. However, the sport industry only accounts for a small amount of China s GDP. Particularly in inland areas, the sports industry is still in an early period of development. In this article, we consider the formation and development conditions of the sports industry in inland areas in China through the foundation and business conditions of Changchun city badminton clubs in the North - Eastern part of China. This article consists of 3 sections. In section 1, we first observe China s fiscal spending on sports, the tax system related to the sports industry, and industrial policy for the sports industry. In section 2, we observe the condition for formation of the sports industry in Changchun city. In this study, we mainly focus on the natural and economic conditions relative to the sports industry in Changchun city. In section 3, the author introduces the process of foundation, business conditions, and business characteristics of Changchun city badminton clubs based on field work. Particularly, details about the locations, charge system, and members status of main badminton clubs in Changchun city are introduced. To summarize, from the discussion of the Changchun city badminton clubs, considering the rising of China income levels due to the sustainable high economic growth, one can say that the sport industry in China has enough potential for development in the future. 66
