The limestone is crystalline substance, and the geological time is difficult to determine, however, it has been estimated as Triassic by conodont biostratigraphy. There are several limestone caves in the rock body: the Ryusen-do Cave in the southernmost part; the Akka-do and the Shigawatari-do caves in the central part; the Uchimagi-do Cave and several small caves in the northern part. The Ryusendo-Cave and the Akka-do Cave have been recognized as a national natural treasure in Japan. The Shigawatari-do Cave situated near the Akka-do Cave, in which the authors have been explored and made a measurement from 1972 to 2009. The total length of the cave is more than 6000 m. In general, three aquifers, erosion by down cutting and formation of secondary product materials are observed. We here present about characteristic objects such as flowstone, stalactites and stalagmites.
