Have you ever seen it before? It is called Girl with a Pearl Earring. When do you think it was painted? Fifty years ago? A hundred years ago? Actually, it is a very old work of art created by Johannes Vermeer, a famous Dutch painter. It was painted about 350 years ago. I think this picture has some very impressive points. For example, I like the clear blue color of her turban and her shining pearl earring. I also like her wide-open eyes gazing at us. Her image clearly emerges from the pure black background. Isn t she mysterious? This is a special painting for me. Although it is very mysterious, I feel very close to the girl in it. She has a gentle expression on her face.
