1 国際社会文化研究所紀要第14号 2012年平塚らいてうのロマンチックラブと近代家族に関する思想と実践にみる葛藤とゆらぎ 1890 から 1910 年代を中心に桑原桃音 Conflicts and ambiguities in Raicho Hiratsuka s thoughts and practices about romantic love and modern family Momone KUWABARA This paper aims to describe Raicho Hiratsuka s thoughts and practices about romantic love and modern family from a comparative perspective with Raden Adjeng Kartini s, which are dealt with in Aoki s paper. Hiratsuka was regarded as Japanese New Woman in the global current of woman s movement from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Her thoughts and practices were strongly influenced not only by the global current but also by Zen Buddhism. While Kartini died young, she lived a long life, in which her thoughts changed to a great extent. This paper considers her conflicts and ambiguities. She regarded the unification of subject-and-object in Zen most important in her early twenties, especially when she together with Morita Souhei attempted a double suicide, which was reported as Shiobara case. In her later years, however, she incorporated Ellen Key s philosophy and came to emphasize the importance of woman s subjectivity. Under the influence of these two, sometimes conflicting, philosophies, she practices a de facto marriage and formed an eclectic Japanesestyle modern family. はじめに本稿の目的は日本の新しい女である平塚らいてう本名明はるのロマンチックラブと近代家族に関する思想と実践とくにそこにあらわれた葛藤ゆらぎを素描することである平塚に対する今日の一般的なイメージは女性による最初の文芸雑誌青鞜の創刊の辞元始女性は太陽であった以下元始を著した女性解放運動家というものだろう実際に平塚は女性解放思想に通じるロマンチックラブおよび近代家族の理想を受け入れ実践しようとしていた1 平塚は 1886 明治 19 年 2 月 10 日東京市麹町区で生まれ明治の閉幕が翌年に迫った 1911 明治 44 年に 25 歳で元始を書いているそして日本の女性解放運動の源流であった彼女はその発展に寄与する旗頭というイメージであり続けたまま 1971 昭和 46 年 5 月 24 日に胆道癌のため 85 歳で永眠するしかし本稿は平塚の女性解放運動の軌跡を主題とするのではなく平塚が近代日本におけるロマンチックラブと近代家族の萌芽のなかでいかに模索と抵抗龍谷大学社会学部実習助手 85
