1 ECC 2015 SUMMER SHORT-TERM STUDY PROGRAM GUIDE 1. Program Dates 2-week course or 4-week course Please choose from the following courses: Course1 July 6 th 2015(Mon)~ July 18 th (Sat) Course2 July 20 th 2015(Mon)~ August 1 st (Sat) Course3 July 6 th 2015(Mon)~ August 1 st (Sat) 2. Program Fees 2-week course1 or course2 50,000Yen 4-week course3 90,000Yen Applications received before May 11 th (Mon) are eligible for a 5,000yen discount from the above prices. Included in the fees Japanese lessons, teaching materials, activities other than those requiring additional fees Not included in the fees Airline flights, accommodation, transport to and from school, sightseeing excursion (This activity requires an additional fee), food etc. 3. Max. Participants 30 students (Max. 15 students per class) 4. Participation eligibility. Participation is limited to high school graduates 18 years or over (at commencement of the course) 5. Application period March 2 nd, 2015 (Mon) June 8 th (Mon) 6. Application process Please or fax all the necessary forms to the school. Forms may also be handed in directly to the school office. After processing, the school will contact prospective students in regards to the payment according to your course length and accommodation type. (Accommodation availability will be based on first-come first-served, so please understand your first choice may not be available.) Please hand in forms for the optional activities directly to the school after the programme has commenced. 7. Cancellations Cancellations received after June 22 nd (Mon) will incur a 10,000 yencancellation charge. Students will also be responsible for any bank fees required in the transfer of the remaining sum of money. Cancellations after the commencement of the programme will not be eligible for a refund.

Japanese lessons 2 levels are being specially catered for; beginner and pre-intermediate. Activities Cultural:Tea ceremony, Japanese Yukata wearing, Karate Intercultural exchange:takoyaki party, Okonomiyaki party Factory tours:instant ramen factory, Meiji chocolate factory ECC Technical College demo lessons:graphic Design class, Prosthetic Make-up class etc. Kyoto/Nara 1 day or half-day sightseeing outing(additional charge):2 trips taking in different sights on each outing will be organised. Detailed itineraries will be provided at a later date. Activities are optional. Please sign up for any and all that interest you.

3 9. Accommodation Students requiring accommodation arrangements may choose from the following. 1 Homestay(Breakfast/Dinner incl.) Homestays will be within a 60-min commute of the school. Cancellations may require a cancellation fee depending on the homestay company s policy. More information will be available upon registration. 2 Apartment Umeda min walk from the school Cancellations will incur a 28,000yen fee. 3 Chateau Miyakojima Studio-style apartment 18 min (walking and subway) from the school Cancellations will incur a 20,000yen fee. 4 Hotel Kinki 5-min walk from the school A 20 percent fee will be incurred for cancellations received 1 day before the reservation date. Requests for an extension of stay should be clearly stated in the application forms. It is possible to share a room with a friend at Apartment Umeda 7 and Hotel Kinki with an additional charge. Please also state this in the application forms in case the rooms are not available. 10. Other For airport pickup Airport pickup is available for students who have arranged accommodations through the school, but is limited to the dates of July 6 th and July 20 th. Please arrange a flight that arrives before 4pm Japanese time. Also, please advise the school of your flight schedule as soon as possible, and no later than 1 week before your scheduled arrival. Be aware that public transport will be used to commute to your accommodation, so students are advised to limit their luggage to a size that can be comfortably managed alone.

4 Medical Insurance A short-term stay visa of less than 90 days does not make individuals eligible to apply for the Japanese national health insurance. We highly recommend individuals get coverage through a travel insurance company in your own country before arrival.
