128 Issues in Research of Tourism Mobilities and Their Significance ABSTRACT In modern society, people, materials, capital, information, ideologies, and technologies are increasingly mobile and global. The aim of this paper is to consider research issues regarding tourism mobilities and their significance. First, I argue that we need what is called mobile turn for innovation in human and social sciences, because the mobile age is approaching us. Next, I point out that tourism plays essential roles for generating the mobile phenomenon, and elucidate the significance of research in tourism mobilities. Finally, I discuss three recent issues such as performativity, materiality and reflexivity. Key Words: mobilities, tourism, mobility turn
