As the world of literature is unlimited, I am able to study freely in the British Literature and Culture course. However, it is not enough to just cram my head full of knowledge or read through a lot of books. It is difficult but valuable to read the story while setting up an antenna for clues which make me find the story more meaningful. British literature is related to many elements of society: folklore, class, and religion. We come to each topic as we like and as determined by our knowledge and our sensitivity. I am fascinated by British literature and each topic looks attractive to me, so much so that research in any area comes easy to me. If you have some interest in British culture, you would find the content of these classes enjoyable to study. The reason I chose this course was that I can focus on the genre I am interested in rather than specific countries or authors. In the freshman year, I came to be interested in gothic and detective novels; then now I work on film adaptations based on Arthur Conan Doyle s Sherlock Holmes series. You will be able to broaden your horizons through discussing with professors and other students and sharing the same interests and goals. We arelooking forward to studying with you at our beautiful campus.
