Bulletin of Faculty of Education, Nagasaki University, Combined Issue Vol. Predictors of Attitudes Toward Seeking Counseling Among Japanese College Students Hirokazu TANIGUCHI Abstract This study examined predictors of Japanese students attitudes toward seeking counseling. Participants were undergraduate and graduate students males and femaleswith a mean age of. years. They answered the measures of attitudes toward emotional experiences, perception of stigma of seeking counseling, distress, and attitudes toward seeking counseling. Results of simultaneous multiple regression analyses indicated that perception of stigma and discomfort with emotions were significant predictors of more reluctance to seek counseling.
