Abstract The Analysis of Hand-Writing datas for pen-input character boxes The previous study [1] approved the optimal size for pen-input writing character boxes in handheld devices. The optimal size of pen-input writing character boxes for the input of alphanumeric characters is approximately 1.20 x 1.44cm. For hiragana and kanji characters the optimal size is approximately 1.44 x 1.44cm. The purpose of this study is to make pen input devices users write comfortably. My research is to search for the results of changing the optimal pen-input boxes for the ease of usage. I used hand-writing data of the previous study[1], where eight experiments were conducted to search for the optimal size for pen-input boxes. The result of my research is that there is significant correlation between hand-writing data and pen-input boxes, as well as the area ratio between the hand-writing data and pen-input boxes. The conclusion is that pen input devices users can write in automatically changing pen-input boxes. key words Pen-Input Character Box, Optimal Size, Hand-Writing Datas, Correlation, area ratio ii
