No.55 A word from another world Cherry blossoms Yievie Wu Spring in Japan can only mean one thing: cherry blossoms. All across Japan, cherry blossoms can be seen throughout the month of April. For Hokkaido, we won t see cherry blossoms until the end of the month. Did you know that there are cherry blossoms in Canada too? In Vancouver, cherry blossoms usually bloom in March. Ranging from shades of white to pink, they are no different than the ones seen in Japan. Although we have cherry blossoms in Vancouver too, we do not have events such as hanami I am excited to participate in this popular Japanese tradition; To relax in a park and eat picnics with my friends and just enjoy the spring atmosphere. I am also excited to try all the limited edition sakura-flavored food and drinks! At Starbucks, they have a sakura-flavored latte! Have you tried it before? 24
