CMD Newsletter No. 26 4 JSME Acceptance Remarks It is always a great honour for any Engineer to receive such a prestigious award as the JSME medal. In my case, however, the honour is compounded by coming from a country which I have learned to love and respect since my first visit twenty or so years ago. Every visit to Japan has been, for me, a source of delight in discovering new aspects of its culture and new demonstration of the warmth of its people. Their continuous receptivity to new ideas and acceptance of other peoples' cultural values has been instrumental in ensuring the success of Japan in terms of Engineering inventions. Few areas have been more fruitful in this regard than the development of Engineering Science in the last few years, in particular Boundary Elements. I am proud of my association with my Japanese colleagues and, in particular, of seeing the quality of their work, and the many developments pioneered by these colleagues and friends who have been through our Wessex Institute of Technology. 20 CFD 1974 CFD 1 3 2 NASA 1981 NRC(National Research Council) Paul Kutler 1 30 NASA 1 - F16
