平 成 26 年 8 月 第 728 号 ADS-ASD-SJAC Reception Mr. David Hatcher, UKTI DSO, Mr. Yoshihiko Isozaki, Parliamentary Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Marcus Bryson, President of ADS, Mr. Jan Pie, Secretary General of ADS, Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon, I am Kazuaki Kama, Chairman of the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies. I assumed this position last May. It is my great pleasure and honor to be here in the opening day of Farnborough Air Show. The aerospace industry is developing steadily through technical innovation. In spite of some ups and downs in business, the global market is expanding in the long run. I think the key word of aerospace business is International Collaboration. Between Europe and Japan, we have been maintaining a variety of collaborative business in airframe, aero-engine, helicopter, system and equipments and so on for a long time. Last year, in the civil sector, European and Japanese partners have commenced three research activities, such as high speed aircraft, anti-icing system and Engine cooler in the European Commission program of FP7, also supported by Japanese government of METI. In the defense, Japanese government announced newly Three principles on transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology last April. This may open the door to enhance the international joint development and production for the defense equipments with countries cooperating with Japan in security area. I believe we can continue collaboration and it will strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and Europe further. Finally, I wish the best success to all of you here. Thank you. 17
