No.49 A word from another world Hello! My name is Yivie. I am the new ALT in Higashikawa. I am from Vancouver, Canada. Vancouver is a beautiful city on the west coast of British Columbia. I recommend everybody to visit if you can! I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in biology and a minor in English. My hobbies include hiking and baking. Hiking is a great way to exercise and also see beautiful scenery. I like to eat dessert, so I enjoy baking cakes and pies. I also love travelling! Since I like travelling, I realize that knowing different languages can be very useful. Right now, I am trying my best to learn Japanese! As an ALT, I hope to inspire the students to learn English through my love for travel. I ve visited Japan in the past, but this is my first time in Hokkaido.
