Ladies and Gentlemen, V-, ' fi- t/ft h'5av F t/ Z On behalf of the Rotary Clubs of district 144 in Denmark, I would like to thank my friend, Mr. Shigehiro Nakano, District Governor, and his wife Michiko for receiving my Team Leader Mr. Jorgen Priess and the five other members of the Group Study Exchange team from our district. lly wife Aase and I were very happy to meet Mr. Nakano, and really appreciated their friendly and smiling nature. It was a great honour and pleasure for my district to host Mr. Naotsugu Maki and the charming exchange students from district 26b in August / September last year. I can assure you that all members of the team were brilliant ambassadors for your district and your country. They were very much beloved during their stay in Denmark. I would like to tell you a little about district 144. Compared to district 265, our district is just a small one. There are 48 clubs with approx. 2000 members in the district located in the northern part of Denmark. The two Rotary Clubs on the Faroe Islands in the northern Atlantic Ocean are also connected to our distrlct. During the last few years, we have arranged Group Study Exchanges with the U. S. A. and Australia, and once before with Japan. The exchange in 1988 / 89 between your neighbour district 166, and our district was very successful and advantageous to us, and ever since we have been interested in continuing the co-operation between Japan and Denmark. Personally I feel that it has been very exciting to be involved in the current G. S. E. arrangement from the very beginning in Dallas / Texas in March 1990, when Mr. Nakano and I met for the first time. It is great to know that the deal we made will be realized when you receive our team. I am sure that they will enjoy their stay in Japan, and will be keen on learning about your culture and the internationality of Rotary. Mr. Jorgen Priess, our Team Leader, is highly recommended in our district owing to his leadership qualities and his international understanding. I feel confident that he will make a fine job, and hope you will like him. Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity of visiting Japan myself. But after having met your wonderful G. S. E. team, and read about the beautiful community of Nara in the impressing district pamphlet I received from Mr. Nakano, I hope to be able to visit your country in the future. It is thrilling for me to know that your district conference is scheduled to take place in March 1991, which will give our G. S. E. team the opportunity of participating in the conference. I hope that the conference will be successful and inspiring, and send my best wishes to all participants from the Rotarians in my district. Finally, I wish all the members of district 265 good luck and prosperity. It has been a pleasure collaborating with you on this Group Study Exchange programme. Sincerely yours, Aage Vorre 7 March 1991 AAGEVORRE Guvernor District 144 Denmark 1990 91
