Course-1: Measurement of brain activity by a magneto-encephalography (MEG) system Capacity: 5 students Department: Rehabilitation Sciences Lecturer: M. Hoshiyama (Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences) Tel.: 3159 (Ext.) E-mail: hosiyama@met.nagoya-u.ac.jp The course will begin in November 2012. students attending the course by e-mail. Details will be announced to [Overview] Magnetic activity induced by electrical activity in brain can be recorded by magneto-encephalography (MEG). The MEG system has an advantage in recording brain activities with high temporal resolution and reliable source estimation. The course includes: Lectures Basic knowledge of MEG Application of the MEG measurement to basic and clinical researches Demonstration Measurement of evoked magnetic fields by MEG and brain source analysis A hole-head MEG system (left) and visual-evoked magnetic fields with source estimation on MR images (right).
