4 Applying for a 'Seminar' at Hitotsubashi [Form 1] Page 3 of 6 一橋大学の正規学生は 学部 3 年生になると 研究関心に従い希望ゼミを決め 面接選考を経て特定の教員のゼミに所属します 3 年生 4 年生の 2 年間 ゼミ教員の指導のもとで学び 学士論文を書き上げることが卒業要件になっています 高い専門知識が求められ 厳しい面接選考を経て所属ゼミが決まるため 必ずしも希望するゼミに所属できるとは限りません 時間割上は 通年 1 週間に 1 回 90 分 (4 単位 ) ですが 予習 復習のほか 個人 グループでの発表準備などにも時間がかかり 相当なコミットメントが求められます 1 つのゼミの規模は 1 学年で多くても 10 数人で 教員の指導も行き届き 仲間同士の結びつきも固く 一橋大学の特徴的な少数精鋭教育を反映しています ゼミで学ぶことを希望する交換留学生は 参加の申請をすることができますが 正規学生と同じコミットメントが求められます また これらのゼミへの参加には高い日本語能力と専門知識が求められるため 交換留学生については ゼミに入ることができる人は限られます 日本語で行われるゼミを希望する場合には 最低でも日本語能力試験 2 級の日本語力および専門知識を有していることが必要です また 最終的にゼミに入れるかどうかはゼミ教員が決定するので 希望してもゼミに入れないことがあります ゼミを希望する場合は あらかじめシラバスでゼミの概要をよく読み それをふまえて日本語で 6 Study Plan を記入してください Degree-seeking undergraduate students at Hitotsubashi University will apply for a seminar based on their research interests in their 3rd. Each student will be granted a place in a specific seminar after being interviewed and getting accepted by the seminar instructor. For two s during their third and forth, they will study and write a thesis under the guidance of their seminar instructor, and this is compulsory for all degree-seeking students. Seminar placement takes place after a rigorous competitive screening process where students must demonstrate their knowleadge at the interview. Not all students are able to join their desired seminar. On the timetable, seminar is a -long course which takes place once a week for 90 min (4 credits); however, a serious commitment is required as students must spend time in preparing for class and reviewing it after class as well. Class sizes are very small, and participants number about a dozen par grade for each seminar. The seminar system is a prominent characteristics of Hitotsubashi University because it foucuses on intense student-facutly interaction and provides a rich course content while strengthening the bonds between students. Exchange students who wish to participate may apply for a seminar as this is one of your privilages of being a student at Hitotsub however, an earnest committoment is required. Only a few exchange students get accepted into seminars because students mus a high lelvel of Japanese language proficiency and specialized knowledge in the subject area. Participants are required to posses Japanese Language Proficiency of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) Level 2 or N2 as well as compatibility with a parti seminar's subject matter. Also, your participation is subject to acceptance by seminar instructors.
