5 For Immediate Release Public Relations MetLife Insurance K.K. Level Term Insurance Premium to be Revised TOKYO, Oct. 26, 2018 Effective April 2019, MetLife Insurance K.K. ( MetLife Japan ) will revise the insurance premium rates of level term policies (the standard risk premium rate 1 and the risk-differentiated premium rate 2 ) as follows. Outline of the rate revision Level term insurance policies enable customers to select the insurance term and coverage amount in accordance with their personal circumstances so that the death benefit can be provided at reasonable premiums. Four levels of risk-differentiated premium rates are provided in accordance with the health condition of the insured person, including factors such as tobacco use, blood pressure and physical condition. In other words, the healthier the insured person is determined to be, the higher the premium discount. For this reason, risk-differentiated products are popular among customers. The premium rate revision will be made in conjunction with the revision of the Standard Mortality Table 3 as of April 2018, reflecting the increase in life expectancy.
