POD について POD (=Professional & Organizational Development Network in Higher Education) 高等教育における専門職及び組織開発 ( 北米 ) ネットワーク 3 POD とは 米国で高等教育機関における教授 学習の向上のために貢献することを目的に 1975 年に創設された学会である 教育の専門性向上のためにメンバー間の親睦と学問的交流を提供している専門職及び組織開発のネットワークである メンバーは教育開発者 (educational developer 又は faculty developer) と呼ばれる 教員とも事務職員とも異なる専門職である 彼 ( 彼女 ) らは教員個人 授業 カリキュラム 組織開発を通して 高等教育機関における人材開発を行うことが業務である 現在約 1,800 名の会員がいる 4 2

7 2. POD Conference 2008 について 年大会の特徴 POD 第 33 回大会とNCSPOD 第 31 回大会の合同開催であった NCSPODとは North American Council for Staff, Program and Organizational Developmentの略称で 北米 ( 米国とカナダ ) のcommunity collegesの連合組織で その目的はほぼ PODと同じである 即ち メンバーに高等教育上のサービスを提供することである 14 7

29 その他の英語圏の高等教育学会 国際 ICED (International Consortium for Educational Development ) 全世界の高等教育の開発を目的とし 特に国内にFDネットワークがない発展途上国の支援をする メンバーは各国のFDネットワーク組織で 米国 POD, 豪州 HERDSA, カナダSTLHE, 英国 SEDAをはじめ 他 16ヶ国 大会は 1996 年から隔年おきに開催され 第 7 回大会は 2008 年米国ユタ州 Salt Lake Cityで開かれ 徳島大学から川野先生が個人参加 次回第 8 回大会は2010 年 6 月 28 日 ~30 日にスペインのバルセロナで開催予定 大会に参加しての感想 58 29
30 POD 大会に参加しての感想 米国の大学では ファカルテフィ ディベロッパーという専門家による的確な教育的アドバイスが得られるので 教員には信頼感があるようである 全米組織のPODや各大学のLearning Communityにおいて 教員は同じ悩みや問題意識を持つ者同士の交流があり 安心感や連帯感が得られているようである 59 30
