About The Bar J.W.Hart During the start of the Meiji Era, Japan transformed from a closed society, to opening its doors to the outside world and its influence. Mr. John William Hart, the pioneer who developed the site where The Oriental Hotel now resides was a modern day visionary. His innovation was the key that helped shape the area surrounding Oriental Hotel as we know it today. Mr. Hart's name now stands proudly on our doors in honor of his great accomplishments.
