宇都宮大学オプティクス教育研究センター はじめに アイルランドのダブリンにあるアイランド国立大学ダブリン校 (University College Dublin) において 約 2 ヶ月間の短期研究留学を行った O Sullivan 教授と Dunne 准教授の研究室に滞 在し 極端紫外光 (XUV) に関する研究に従事させて頂き 英語でのコミュニケーションや極端紫 外光に関する知識 加えて実験 理論計算の手法を学んだ 留学先であるアイルランド国立大学ダブリン校 (University College Dublin) の 分光グループ (SpecLab.) は世界的にも有名であり 近年注目されている極端紫外リソグラフィ技術に用いる 13.5 nm の光に関してスズ (Sn) を用いるべきと最初に提唱したグループでもある 留学時にお ける研究室の学生数は博士課程の学生が 6 名であった 日本と異なり修士課程はないため 学部 卒業後に就職もしくは 5 年制の博士課程への進学を選択する 学生はすべて博士課程の 1 年制で あり同年代であった 図 1 アイルランド国立大学ダブリン校正門 (University College Dublin) 海外短期研究留学 報告書 1
宇都宮大学オプティクス教育研究センター 研修内容 レーザー生成カリウムプラズマからの極端紫外光の観測 宇都宮大学湯上 東口研究室では放電生成カリウムプラズマからの極端紫外 (XUV) 光の観測 に成功している [1] 研究留学に際してカリウムプラズマから放射される XUV 光の詳細な分光を 目的とした ダブリン大学においては放電装置がないため 励起方法はレーザー生成方式を用い た 図 2 は実験装置の写真 図 3 は実験配置図である 図 2 実験装置の写真 Laser Lens Pumping outlet Spectrometer Target 図 3 実験配置図 海外短期研究留学 報告書 2
