The per Capita GNI of Vietnam was only US$.-* in the year,**,, Particularly rural poverty is more striking than city poverty. For example, the rate of city people under the general poverty line was only 3.* in +332 while the rate for rural farmers was as high as... 3. The purpose of this study is to analyze actual conditions of rural poverty and to consider ways of alleviating rural poverty. Firstly, we research actual conditions of farm-household poverty level. Secondly, we analyze ways to increase agricultural income. Thirdly, we analyze the way to increase non-agricultural income. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; +. Non-agricultural labor market is very important and the increase of non-agricultural income enables people to improve their economic conditions.,. Innovation of VAC systems, especially development of the animal sector is very important. The increase of animal sector income enabled them to improve their economic conditions. In the future, we are planning to analyze other ways of alleviating rural poverty by the farm management survey of profitable farmers.
