Studies on The Sexual Consciousness and Behavior of Japanese Youth (2nd Report) Shinobu MIYAHARA, Yuko CHIGA, Sachiko SAITO, Misao TAKEI, Ayako UCHIYAMA, Yshiharu HOSHIYAMA Summary: A survey was made about the opinion and attitude of the Japanese high school and college students on their sexuality, body and self-acceptance. 1,842 set of questionnaires were delivered and 1,558 valid answers (620 males and 938 females) were returned and analyzed. Among the articles like "love", "coitus", "marriage", and "sense of fulfillment", only a small relationship was revealed, whic h suggested that the close relationship between the sexes nowadays did not lead to their marriage. The acceptance rate of own sexes was lower in females than males. The many females disliked their own sexes because of the social discrimination, suggesting the inner social conflict to obtain their gender identity. The people who had low acceptance of their sexes had negative attitude on marriage and child rearing. Acceptance of g ender identity was shown to be one of the big factors about choosing life-styles.
