IC Effects of IC Recorder Training for Improving Capability to Grasp Situations TSUJI Youichirou The capability to grasp situations is one of foundation in comprehensive communication. To improve this capability for university freshmen, the author attempted theexperimental class utilizing IC recorder. Students tried to do their live recording for several subjects: for example, live recording of their landscape or live condition in university campus, or showing the way the nearest station to the university, etc. They recorded it in IC recorder, played it back and checked it, and tried to broadcast it again. The author analyzed this recorded data to students growth of capability, later. It showed that it seemed to be even difficult for many students to make utterance at the first time, most of them achieved adequate live recording like broadcast reporters at last. The author discussed effect of utilizing IC recorder to improve the capability to grasp situations, some problems to carry out in classes. Checkpoints to acquire capability to grasp situations for university freshmen are also discussed.
