Case Studies of Education Law: Answering Questions about Education Law from Schools Yutaka YAMAMOTO School of Social Welfare, Tokyo University of Social Welfare (Isesaki Campus), 2020-1 San o-cho, Isesaki-city, Gunma 372-0831, Japan Abstract : I have been occasionally invited by schools or education boards to serve as a lecturer at their education-law workshops. Some workshops cover how to legally deal with school responsibility problems caused by troubles between students or with any blame for accidents placed by parents. At these workshops, I feel that the school officials are not accustomed to using appropriate education laws to solve problems with specific cases although they have learned the Constitution and basic education laws at colleges. In most cases, they tend to solve such problems with educational care or educational reason. These measures, however, cannot lead to solution, rather prolonging the problems. Thus, I have asked those involved in education to present various cases involving educational problems actually arising in schools today. Among them, I have researched such problems that can be solved by appropriate laws. Reprint request should be sent to Yutaka Yamamoto Key words : Education law, Case study, Educational solution 86
