Whatever form it takes, a piece of art can deeply affect both mind and emotions. Art can make people smile and feel more relaxed, motivated and creative. According to composer, sound designer, and producer Shahrokh Yadegari, paintings and music can activate certain portions of the human brain. England s Arts Council also discovered that relaxing music may have beneficial effects on the immune system and pain perception. It can also reduce anxiety and improve heart conditions. We respond to and benefit from art in different ways. We may see it in a way that others don t. We may get something from it that others cannot. How about you? How does art affect you? B.
