1 2 1 3 Experimental Evaluation of Convenient Strain Measurement Using a Magnet for Digital Public Art Junghyun Kim, 1 Makoto Iida, 2 Takeshi Naemura 1 and Hiroyuki Ota 3 We present a basic technology that utilizes natural object in the environment and use it as a new and simple interface. In our study we apply strain measurement to an object for constructing an interface. A strain is a small change in length of the object caused by some external force. In many cases, the strain is measured by attaching a strain sensor onto the surface of the object. But, there are problems that it is necessary to adhere for a long time and maintenance is complex. So we have proposed using magnets as compared with adhesive for attaching the strain sensors although the object is limited. In this paper, we evaluate a method to attach the strain sensors using magnets on the bench using in airport. 1.
