1 A Consideration of Features for Fatigue Estimation by Gait Analysis Using Accelerometer Hidekazu Higashi, 1 Tadashi Shigeoka, 1 Tsuyoshi Itokawa, 1 Teruaki Kitasuka 1 and Masayoshi Aritsugi 1 For estimation of fatigue within daily life, we refer acceleration of gaits and try to extract features that represent fatigue from acceleration. Based on the perceptions of existing research, we examine nine features of vertical acceleration of both ankles on gaits. We conduct an experiment with five participants. In the experiment, three sequences of vertical acceleration for each participant are measured prior to twice one-hour ergometer exercises, between the exercises, and posterior to the exercises. As a result, we confirm that five features such as gait cycle, peak acceleration of heel contact, and the average acceleration represent fatigue. 1 Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kumamoto University 1. 1) 2) ) 1 1) (a) (b) 4) 1 c 2011 Information Processing Society of Japan
