LAN 1 2 3 2 LAN WiFiTag WiFiTag LAN LAN 100% WiFi Tag An Improved Determination Method with Multiple Access Points for Relative Position Estimation Using Wireless LAN Abstract: We have proposed a WiFiTag which can be used to realize a wireless non-contact identification of objects attached with tags using wireless LAN. A WiFiTag provides a mechanism which directly links the objects in the real world, such as a digital signage and a poster, to the corresponding contents on the Internet. In this research, we assume a worse case to decide the nearest tag among multiple ones existing closely. In this case, we propose a method to use multiple wireless LAN access points to reduce the false positive ratio. In the proposed method, false positives are drastically reduced by using the sum or max value of the RSSIs from paired wireless LAN access points. Moreover, we show that the proposed method can achieve almost 100% in the estimation accuracy. Keywords: WiFiTag, multiple access points, relative position estimation, and digital signage 1.
