16 : Modeling of Magmatic Hydrothermal System Beneath Kuju Volcano, Central Kyushu, Japan. In order to simulate development of magmatic hydrothermal system, the flow rate of magmatic water discharged from a magma chamber is estimated by simple magma degassing concept. As a result, a transient flow rate of magmatic water discharged from a magma chamber is developed. Furthermore, it becomes the mass and energy input to the reservoir (the permeable zone) just above the magma chamber. In the reservoir, the magmatic water mixes with the downgoing meteoric water and finally is discharged as liquid and vapor at: the earth's surface. They form fumarolic and hot manifestations. The finite dif f erece method (FDM) based on the mass and heat balance equations is used to obtain the pressure and the enthalpy distribution in the reservoir. The derived pressure and enthalpy are used to calculate the other parameters (thermodynamic properties of fluid). These parameters represent the fluid state in the reservoir. This concept is applied to simulate the thermal processes beneath Kuju volcano, central Kyushu, Japan. As a result, accompanying the development of the resevoir supplied by mgmatic water, the fluid phase in the resevoir chamges with time from liquid two phase superheated state. These results interpret the thermal processes beneath Kuju volcano as a model of magmatic hydrothermal system. F. Arai and R. Komatsu : Hydrothermal Metamorphism in the Mori Geothermal Field, Japan. 19 J. Iriyama and M. Iriyama : Geothermal Research of the Yakedake Volcano (X). stage in 1971 of LH-l, 2, and 3 was carried Cooperation A39 Exploration of Geothermal Reservoir in Lahendong Area, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. P. Sumintadireja, Kyushu University S. Sudarman, PERTAMINA, Indonesia K. Ushijima, Kyushu University Lahendong geothermal field is located approximately 30km to the south of Manado city in Tomohon district, Minahasa, North Sulawesi island, Indonesia. The first drilling out by VSI (Volcanological Survey of Indonesia) in association with JICA(Japan International Agency). Based on gravity qualitative pattern recognition, the regional geologic map of the Lahendong caldera structure corresponds to the Bouguer anomaly map. Regional Bouguer anomaly map shows almost NE-SW trend of synclinal basement while the value is increasing northward. Positive anomaly in the adjacent of Linau lake is correlating to the subsurface of plutonic intrusion. Quantitative interpretation based on 1-D MT model of SW-NE section

20 across LHD-7, 5, and 4 wells shows a very conductive layer, less than 5 ƒ m found at the depth 800m adjacent LHD-5, the layer is thickening towards southwest area whereas electrical discontinuity in NE and SW part indicating the layer transition to the higher resistive area (>10ƒ m), the resistive layer is encountered at 1500m depth. The apparent resistivity map is derived from Schlumberger resistivity survey while the up-flow area is estimated to coincident with the low resistivity zone. The mise-a la masse survey shows the low resistiviy area is encircling around tha LHD-1 well, in LHD-5 tha prospective area is located in SE area and a smaller prospective area in tha NW part, whereas in tha LHD-4 tha prospective area is located in tha NW area. There are two types of reservoir within this area, shallow and deep reservoir, the volume are calculated based on the feed zone data and the assumption of reservoir geometry. The shallow reservoir volume is 2.12km3 with geothermal potential of 31.4 MWe, whereas the deep reservoir is 4 km3 with geothermal potential of 59.2 MWe. M.
