Sallis / [26] [27] [28] O X * ** ** * ** The purpose of this study was to investigate of the occurrence situation and the characteristic about wounds and injuries of university football players, and to examine the relations with the physical characteristics such as the leg forms or the flexibility of muscle. As a result, the players with the experience of injury during 2007 were 19 of 61 people, namely 31.3%. The occurrence number of injuries was 20 cases, and the ankle sprains with 14 in all 20 cases were the most. Compared the injured players with the no-injured players, the tendency that the injured group had lower value in skinfold thickness and percent of body fat than the no-injured group was recognized. And the injured group had significantly lower value in a leg minimum wall than the no-injured group, so the possibility to be related to the occurrence of the injury such as ankle sprain was suggested. In addition, the tendency that the injured group had higher flexibility of muscle than the no-injured group in many items was recognized. As a result, the relation of the occurrence of leg injuries of university football players to the physical characteristics was not a little recognized. football injuries physical characteristics
